South Korean set for Hoops

South Korean World Cup defender Cha Du-Ri is in talks with Celtic about a free transfer move to Parkhead.

The 29-year-old right-back spent last season at German club Freiburg but left when his contract expired at the end of the Bundesliga season.

Countryman Sung-Yong Ki is already at Celtic and Cha is keen to make the move to Scotland.

He explained: "I've been taking English lessons while living in Germany because when I retire it is important to be able to communicate in a world where English is increasingly spoken.

"I'm excited about playing for Celtic and living in Glasgow."
