Silva Keen To Secure Fourth

Killie must win on Saturday to stand a chance of over taking Dundee United. David Silva believes Kilmarnock must win against Dundee United on Saturday to have any hope of ending the SPL in fourth place this season. Kilmarnock head to Tayside five points behind United, who are currently sitting in fourth-place, and on the back of a 4-0 home loss to Celtic in midweek. Silva knows time is running out as there are only five games left this season.  He said: "We know it is a vital match for us. We have to win if we are to get fourth. We have to forget what happened against Celtic and try to be at our best. The manager told us to try to forget what happened against them and focus on the game on Saturday, which is more important for us. Finishing fourth would be a big achievement because last season we were battling relegation. No one was expecting us to be so high this season. Even fifth is a good finish but we will try to finish as high as possible."  Silva insists the Killie players have got over the taunts from the travelling fans who cheered every pass when Celtic were keeping possession football late in the game. The former CSKA Sofia and Porto player said: "Of course you don't feel good with a heavy defeat but I think Celtic played well. We made a lot of mistakes and they punished us. That is the best performance I have come up against this season. If they keep it going like that they have a big, big chance of becoming champions, and the fans cheering their passing is just part of the game. When you are losing by a large margin, of course, the crowd try to annoy you. It happens, it's football and you just try to forget it and concentrate on the game."  Killie caretaker boss Kenny Shiels is confident his players have recovered from their midweek reverse and are ready to go again against United. He said: "The players are okay. Kilmarnock have been beaten by Celtic before and they were very good on Wednesday night. Sometimes you get these results and you have to move on."
