Scrappy win pleases Strachan

19 Oct 2008 - 10:32:46

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan was relieved to take all three points from the game at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Bhoys appeared to be coasting to victory when they eased into a 2-0 lead but Garry Wood's goal for Caley Thistle meant a nervous last 20 minutes for the Bhoys boss.

Strachan said: "They weren't easy conditions today, the wind and what have you.

"We dealt with it. We're pleased we got a win because we knew it was going to be very hard. But it wasn't an easy game to referee, or play in, or watch I imagine.

"So we're just glad to get the three points and make our way home from here to Manchester.

"Gary Caldwell has got a few stitches in his foot. There are definitely a few knocks about the place, and we've got to try to find a team who can keep the ball and be a threat at Old Trafford."
