Samaras sends Bhoys through

Celtic striker Georgios Samaras hopes his dramatic late winner in the Champions League third qualifying round second leg victory against Dinamo Moscow will cement his place in Tony Mowbray's first team.

After losing last week's first leg in Glasgow 1-0, the odds were stacked against the Bhoys who had not won an away European game in six years.

However, Scott McDonald headed Celtic ahead on the night just before the break and Greek international Samaras netted a stoppage-time winner to send Mowbray's side into Friday's play-off draw.

Former Manchester City striker Samaras said after the famous win: "I played a lot of games last season and was second top scorer.

"It's up to the gaffer who he plays, and what shape we're going to play but I'm here for him and here for the club.

"I'm never going to give up because I know my abilities and qualities. Every time he wants me I'll be here for him."
