Rogne backing for new boss Lennon

Thomas Rogne insists new Celtic boss Neil Lennon is the right man for the job - and backed him to inspire them to title success next season.[LNB] Lennon impressed as caretaker manager when he took over the helm following Tony Mowbray's departure in March and was handed the role permanently last week.[LNB]Celtic won eight out of eight in the Scottish Premier League under the former skipper's charge, with an Scottish Cup exit to Ross County the only black mark against his CV.[LNB]Rogne believes the response Lennon received from the players in the latter stage of the campaign suggests they are more than ready to wrest the championship from the clutches of rivals Rangers.[LNB]The defender said: "I'm very happy. I think he is a fantastic manager, he's a great person as well, and he is the right guy for the job.[LNB]"He brings out the best in you as a player and that's the most important thing. He is a great motivator and he knows Scottish football as well.[LNB]"All the players respect him. We showed at the end of last season that we have a great group of players.[LNB]"We won eight games in a row and that proves we have good players just now so we will see what happens."[LNB]Rogne was recruited by Mowbray in January, before the former Hoops boss parted company with the club after just nine months.[LNB]"Of course it was surprising because I didn't expect Tony to go away," said the 19-year-old.[LNB]"But it's always going to be like that at a big club like Celtic - we need to have results and we didn't so something had to happen."[LNB]A hamstring problem restricted Rogne to just four appearances last season.[LNB]He is now determined to make an impact and force his way into Lennon's plans as he finally bids to kick-start his Celtic career.[LNB]He said: "I'm back a bit early to prepare for pre-season and I need to make sure I'm fit after the injury.[LNB]"I've been training very hard over the last few weeks and just want to make sure I'm fine for the new season. For me, the season was quite short so there has been a lot of training.[LNB]"I want to play and the injury has been frustrating. It's always important to stay injury-free and play as much as possible.[LNB]"Hopefully everyone will just see a good player next season.[LNB]"Maybe they have seen a little bit and hopefully I can build on that for the new season. Hopefully it's going to be a great season for me."
