Robson banking on experience

Celtic, who host Aberdeen on Saturday, are one point ahead of Rangers with six matches remaining in their quest for a fourth successive championship. Gordon Strachan's team were seven points behind their Old Firm rivals with seven matches left last year, and Robson is sure the experience of overturning that deficit will give them strength this term. "There's a lot of pressure but the boys know how to handle that," Robson said. "That's one thing we have got in our favour here - we know what it takes because last year we had to go seven games unbeaten. "We knew we had to win every game. We have still got the same personnel to do that, so it's something we are comfortable with. We know what is needed." Rangers are desperate to regain the title to end their longest barren spell since Graeme Souness led them to the trophy in 1987. But Robson insists the hunger for a fourth successive title can drive Celtic on. "I think the hunger's bigger," he said. "We are going for four now. It's a bigger thing. "You can say 'once you have won the title, that's it, you sit back', but the feeling you get when you win it makes you want to win more. "That's what every person here has got at the moment. I have been watching some training sessions and the hunger the boys have shown is great. "We have been in this position before and we are all looking forward to it." Only Jock Stein has led Celtic to more than three successive titles since the end of World War I, and Robson is sure the glory of a fourth title in a row can provide even more motivation. "It would be a historic achievement and you never know where we could go from there," the 30-year-old added. "Hopefully we can keep everyone together, the management and coaching staff. "But we need to win the title first and that's not going to be easy because Rangers are a good side and are going to fight all the way." The Scotland international has not played since undergoing groin surgery in early February but he is hopeful of playing some part in the run-in. "I had a wee setback after my operation, I think I maybe tore a wee bit of my adductor again," he said. "That was three weeks' rest and another injection. "I'm hoping that, within the next week, I can start light training again, so I can get back for some games until the end of the season."
