Riordan hints at move

Frustrated Celtic striker Derek Riordan has admitted that he may be forced to leave the club in search of regular first-team football.

The 23-year-old has made only one brief substitute appearance for Gordon Strachan's side in the SPL since his summer switch from Hibernian and is already unhappy with his lack of action.

"I'll have to consider doing something in January if I'm not playing," Riordan told the Daily Record. "I'm not the kind of player who likes to sit on the bench.

"It's a frustrating and annoying time for me and not to be playing in Celtic's first team is really bugging me.

"I know I have to be patient and wait for my chance but we're nine games into the season and I've played three minutes.

"I'll fight for my place and work hard and hope that I get into the side somehow. I've not been used to this situation. For three years I had regular first-team games with Hibs."
