Contracts are hard to win and you have tio be careful when to light the match that burns your bridges. Stipe Pletikosa has revealed his failure to win a contract at Celtic cost him a significant pay-off from Spartak Moscow. The Croatian goalkeeper tore up his contract, which had a year left to run, in anticipation of a less lucrative deal with Celtic. But he could not impress Celtic manager Neil Lennon sufficiently in friendlies against Cardiff and Wolves. Pletikosa said: "I really wanted to play for Celtic, but I think now it was a big mistake that I agreed to stay more than three days and played two games. I broke my contract with Spartak Moscow, which was worth a lot of money, because I felt it would help me play for Celtic. I was also prepared to accept a wage three times less. But now I have to find a club elsewhere. I felt I deserved to get a contract. I'm sure I would have been a very good goalkeeper for Celtic." Neil Lennon will consider his options regarding competition for Lukasz Zaluska. The Celtic manager is also looking for a striker, with Manchester City's Craig Bellamy still on his list. he said: "There's still interest in Craig but it's dictated by finances."
