Motherwell midfielder Stephen Pearson will become a Celtic player in the near future, according to a Parkhead insider.
The 21-year-old's switch to the SPL leaders is stalling on a potential sell-on clause and the possible loan of Bhoys players to Well in return, but those problems should be ironed out.
A Bhoys source told the Evening Times: "If for some bizarre reason an agreement can't be reached during the transfer window, then he will sign for them on a Bosman deal at the end of the season.
"It's in Motherwell's interest to sort something out with Celtic and Martin O'Neill has made it clear to Stephen via his agent that they're determined to land him.
"There is no chance of this deal not going through. Celtic will try to avoid including a sell-on clause, but an agreement is not far away."
