New Role For Maxwell
Partick Thistle have found a new job for Ian McCall's assistant Partick Thistle have created a new post for Ian McCall’s former right hand man. Ian Maxwell has been named as general manager at the Firhill club. Maxwell, who was player/assistant manager to McCall, was overlooked when Jackie McNamara was appointed interim team manager when McCall resigned two weeks ago. However, he was delighted to accept the newly created position. Maxwell said: "The term General Manager is a bit vague but as the Board have explained I will be working in a role between the football management and the Club Board. That is something that we perhaps have not had in the past. I expect that the job will comprise of a wide variety of different roles and tasks from dealing with day to day football administration and looking at various commercial aspects. It all sounds quite exciting. I am also liaising with those involved with doing work on our much talked pitch during the summer."
