Neil Lennon salutes 'unique' supporters as Celtic secure 44th Scottish title

Neil Lennon paid tribute to Celtic's "unique" fans after victory over Inverness confirmed a second straight SPL title. The manager had called on supporters to come and party in Parkhead as his side chased the point required for a 44th Scottish championship. And a packed Celtic Park duly obliged as the Hoops shook off the torpor of a drab opening period to rattle in four second-half goals and win 4-1. "The supporters are just unique in world football," said Lennon, whose touchline ban left him celebrating a second title as manager from the stands. "They give the players an extra step, they inspire the team. "Winning the league is a very special moment, I want the players to enjoy it. "We were okay in the first half, second half we really came through. It's a great way to win the championship. While I'm here I want to win things and winning the championship is always very special. "It's a privilege to manage this club and to win this championship again, I'm so proud for the players and the fans - they're the people who make this club what it is."
