Mowbray plays down victory
26 Oct 2009 - 07:28:04
Celtic manager Tony Mowbray refused to get carried away with the three points despite his side's 2-1 victory over Hamilton on Sunday.
The Bhoys moved back above Rangers at the top of the SPL table but Mowbray, who had been critical of his players after their midweek Europa League defeat to Hamburg, played down the achievement.
"I was happy with the endeavour, commitment and desire to win the match," he said.
"But it's all about results and the history books will show that we won 2-1.
"It's just another three points and we will move on."
Speaking about the absence of goalkeeper Artur Boruc and midfielder Scott Brown, he added: "Artur has been carrying the knock for six or seven weeks and getting through it but it came to the point where we had to take him out.
"Scott Brown needs to sort his ankle out long-term, he got a knock on it in midweek and it wasn't good enough to play with today."
