Mowbray demands much more

Tony Mowbray accused his Celtic players of failing to perform at the required standard despite overcoming St Mirren 2-0 on Saturday.

Pat McCourt and Shaun Maloney struck in each half at St Mirren Park to keep the Hoops at the top of the SPL table, but Mowbray was far from happy at the level of performance.

"It was a very disappointing performance and it was way, way below what we expect as a team," he said.

"It was unacceptable for our supporters. There were positives in that we got a clean sheet but the standards have got to be higher.

"There has to be better decision-making, better passing, better movement and we must be more clinical. I think we can be better everywhere."
