Mowbray blast for held Hoops
09 Nov 2009 - 13:18:27
Tony Mowbray accused Celtic of producing their worst performance of his reign following a 3-3 draw with Scottish Premier League basement-boys Falkirk on Sunday.
The Hoops have struggled to find their best form since Mowbray replaced Gordon Strachan in the hot-seat during the summer and the former West Bromwich Albion boss has often been critical of the squad he inherited.
But following a see-saw game in which Scott McDonald was forced to grab a late equaliser for the league leaders, Mowbray pulled no punches.
"It was a tired performance," he claimed. "It's as poor as we've been this season but, if we take a positive, it's that we always endeavoured to get back into it.
"We're disappointed to have dropped points. The team showed great desire to overturn the position at 2-1 down."
Referring to the the midweek Europa League stalemate with Hamburg in Germany, he added: "They could have felt sorry for themselves because it's been a tough, tiring week.
"Sometimes we have mentally tiring performances after Europe and today was one of those. The team didn't play well, I was aware of that."
