Tony Mowbray is unhappy that Morten Rasmussen will have to tone down his goal celebrations in Scotland after seeing the Dane booked in the wake of his first goal for Celtic which secured a 1-0 win over Hamilton.
After running to the temporary stand which housed some of the Hoops support, followed by most of his team-mates, Rasmussen was shown a yellow card by referee Calum Murray, which irked the Celtic boss who made his feelings known to fourth official George Salmond.
"When is a player allowed to celebrate?" Mowbray said. "I can understand if it was an Old Firm game and the players go into the crowd but I genuinely couldn't see the problem with the boy celebrating with our supporters and making a connection with them."
He added: "The referee is probably going by the letter of the law but I like common sense.
"I have watched Rasmussen score many, many goals in Denmark, he is on the fence, in the net, he is grabbing hold of the pretty girls in the crowd.
"He celebrates with his supporters, it is a reflection of what it means but he will learn very quickly.
"I am pleased for him, that's why he is here, to be in the right place at the right time.
"It's good to see him connecting with the supporters, it's part of the reason we signed him.
"He has a good scoring record but he makes a connection with the fans and fans like to see how much it means to the players."
