More ankle surgery for Brown

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown is set to spend the next two months on the sidelines after being forced to undergo another operation on his troublesome ankle.

The 24-year-old Scotland international has not featured for the Bhoys in the last month, having continued to be troubled by his ankle after a round of surgery in the summer.

Boss Tony Mowbray confirmed: "Scott has been to Amsterdam to see a specialist. We have come to the conclusion where we go now.

"Scott will have a minor procedure in Amsterdam which will hopefully clear up his problem. Ultimately we need to get it sorted.

"The specialist who is overseeing Scott is looking at him being out for six to eight weeks.

Meanwhile, Shaun Maloney could be out for a similar length of time, although he does not require surgery on an Achilles problem.
