McManus eyes cup success

Skipper Stephen McManus is determined to be successful in his first cup final in possession of the Celtic armband.

The Scotland defender will lead out the Hoops in Sunday's Co-operative Insurance Cup Final against Old Firm rivals Rangers at Hampden Park.

"This my first cup final as the Celtic captain and I'm really looking forward to it," he said.

"Hopefully it's a good occasion and we are celebrating at the end.

"I'm glad we are playing Rangers but, to be honest, it doesn't matter who we're up against. We will approach the game in the same way.

"We've got a good bunch of lads here. I look about this squad and believe we can achieve a lot together.

"We have a youngish group of players, and hopefully the best years are ahead of us.

"We want to move forward as a group, progress as a group and hopefully win as many trophies as possible."
