McManus off to Boro
Stephen McManus has moved on as Gordon Strachan returns to his old club for his latest signing. Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Stephen McManus from Celtic. The Scotland international and former Hoops captain spent latter part of last season on loan at Boro and he made a huge impact during his time at The Riverside. Gordon Strachan made no secret of his desire to keep McManus, but he has had to wait whilst new Celtic manager Neil Lennon formalised his plans. Although Lennon initially wanted to keep McManus, he has now approved his exit and Boro have finally concluded a deal reportedly worth £1.5million. McManus passed his medical earlier in the week and has now signed a three-year deal with the Championship club.
