McInnes confident of beating Bhoys

The Perth men racked up three wins in a trot for the first time this season with their Active Nation Scottish Cup victory at Forfar earlier in the week, which came on the heels of SPL wins over St Mirren and Motherwell. While McInnes played down the fact the Hoops have 10 players unavailable for their trip to McDiarmid Park, he is looking forward to the chance of extending that run further. "We have to use every little thing to our advantage," he said. "We are confident, we are unbeaten in three games, we have home advantage and so we will relish the challenge. "We will try to be positive, and try to win the game. "But to get a positive result we have to pay to our capabilities, play to the best our of ability. "We know it will be a difficult game. "Credit to their manager, he tries to play football his way and he sticks to his principles which is very admirable. "But our players are looking forward to it." McInnes is still waiting to play on-loan striker Cillian Sheridan, who will not be available against his parent club. The young Irishman was also ineligible for the cup tie at Forfar, having failed to complete his temporary move from Parkhead in time. McInnes is hoping to see Sheridan in action soon and will not rule out bringing in more players before the transfer window closes. "Cillian will be available after Sunday," added the Saints boss. "He has fitted in well and it's just a matter of getting him a game. "One or two other things might happen in terms of people coming in "Recently I said the number of players possibly coming in would depend on the results and our injury list and thankfully the results are good and the injury list is shortening. "So we will wait and see."
