McGeady wants Hoops to tighten up

Tony Mowbray made eight signings during the January transfer window with seven first-team players leaving the club. Celtic travel to Ibrox on Sunday with a seven-point deficit on Rangers, who have played a game more, after dropping 12 points already this year. New signings Robbie Keane, Morten Rasmussen and Diomansy Kamara have all been among the goals to give McGeady confidence ahead of the crucial SPL clash. But Celtic have lost 11 goals in their last 10 games compared to the two Rangers have conceded. McGeady told BBC Alba's Club TV: "I think the new players who have come in in January have settled in pretty well. "You expect when a lot of new players come in that it takes time to bed themselves into the team and get used to the way they want to play and the way the manager wants us to play. "Going forward in the last few games, we have played pretty well. But we need to stop giving simple goals away." The Republic of Ireland international is set to appear in his 23rd Old Firm contest but only goalkeeper Artur Boruc comes close to matching that tally in the Celtic team. "From the team I started out playing in five or six years ago, there are maybe no players left," McGeady said. "It just shows you how things change in football. It's not difficult for me because I'm used to playing for Celtic. "I think it's more difficult for new players to come in."
