McGeady sure Arsenal are beatable

McGeady scored a lunchtime double in the 3-1 win at Aberdeen to help Tony Mowbray's side get off to a flyer in their SPL title race. Hours later though, Arsenal showed their undoubted class when they trounced Everton 6-1 at Goodison in their Premier League opener. McGeady believes the first leg of Tuesday's play-off will require a robust approach from the Parkhead men. "Arsenal are going to be a totally different team to Aberdeen," said McGeady. "It could be a tough 90 minutes. "We know we are the underdogs and they are obviously the favourites but they are definitely beatable. "A lot of teams in the Premier League beat them last season by getting in and around them and not letting them play and that's something we have to do on Tuesday night." Celtic warmed up for the visit of the Gunners in rather impressive fashion, especially in the first half when they could have added to McGeady's double and a Scott McDonald strike. Dons midfielder Sone Aluko pulled a goal back after the break but there was no real chance of a comeback for Mark McGhee's side who look as if they might face a long season ahead. McGeady was glad to get a start on team mate Shaun Maloney in their race to reach double figures in the scoring stakes. He said: "We played very well in the first half, there was a lot of attacking football and it could have been five or six. "I think the gaffer was disappointed because with Aberdeen getting the goal in the second half, it could have been a nervy finish. "But overall it was a good day at the office. "The manager said to Shaun and me before the game that he wants us to get to at least double figures this season and I totally agree with him. "I definitely need to improve on my goalscoring and today was great but the main thing is we got off to a good start in the league."
