McDonald happy with Bhoys

Australia striker Scott McDonald is hopeful of remaining with Celtic for the foreseeable future, despite interest from a number of clubs south of the border.

The 26-year-old has scored 64 goals in 124 games for the Bhoys, with Wigan Athletic among the clubs showing an interest in the former Motherwell ace.

He told the Daily Record: "For the foreseeable future I don't see myself anywhere else. I'm happy here.

"I'm not going anywhere unless I'm pushed out. If that happens so be it, but hopefully it won't come to that any time soon and I can stay.

"The English Premier League is the best in the world. Players want to be there, but it has to be at the right time.

"I've read about clubs being interested in me, but I haven't heard anything and don't want to.

"I'm concentrating on the job here and I'm playing well now. I want to continue that form, get my goals and not worry about any other issues off the park."
