McDonald hoping for a new high

Arsene Wenger's squad flew in to Glasgow on Monday as hot favourites to win the Battle of Britain clash, the first leg of which will take place at a packed Parkhead on Tuesday night.[LNB]The Hoops qualified for the last 16 of the competition two years in succession under former boss Gordon Strachan - and the Australian international believes that feat is comparable to overcoming the odds against Arsenal to make the group stages.[LNB]McDonald, however, believes Celtic have to take a lead down to the Emirates Stadium for the second leg - unlike boss Tony Mowbray.[LNB]The Parkhead striker explained: "Of course, we know it's going to be tough but if we were to qualify, this would be right up there with getting to the last 16 of the Champions League.[LNB]"But we know we need a win - something we can take down there to make them work at the Emirates.[LNB]"We believe we can get at them and we have to try and dominate possession.[LNB]"We all know Arsenal are very good, but we need to be tight on them. There's a big carrot dangling here for us.[LNB]"We will have 58,000 of our fans roaring us on. They can give us that extra lift that can take us over that line."[LNB]McDonald watched Arsenal's 6-1 demolition of Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday and revealed his admiration for Arsene Wenger's side.[LNB]He said: "They are just as good as Manchester United were when they came here and the question is how do we stop that?[LNB]"They are a very good side and they were very impressive to say the least against Everton.[LNB]"Arsene Wenger just keeps producing these young players.[LNB]"But we have huge belief in ourselves and the atmosphere at Parkhead will give us that extra lift."[LNB][LNB] Celtic v Arsenal.
