Maloney targets swift return

Thursday Sep 29 2005 14:42

Celtic striker Shaun Maloney hopes to be back in first-team action before the end of the month.

He twisted his right ankle in Sunday's Scottish Cup win at Clyde but the injury is not as bad as was initially feared.

"The scan has come back and it seems it was just a badly twisted ankle and hopefully I'll be back in three weeks," Maloney told the Daily Record.

"It was a relief as I saw one of the pictures the following day and it gave me a bit of a fright but thankfully there doesn't appear to be much damage."
