Maloney blow for Bhoys

Tuesday Nov 22 2005 11:08

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has admitted that Shaun Maloney is unlikely to be fit enough to play against Dunfermline this weekend.

The striker sustained a sprained ankle in the 3-0 victory over Rangers on Saturday.

Strachan is already without Chris Sutton, Maciej Zurawski and Craig Beattie so John Hartson is his only fully-fit striker.

"Shaun will be touch and go for the weekend and we'd have to look on him as a real doubt," confirmed the Bhoys boss.

"It's far from ideal given we have three strikers out already.

"Sometimes you need to handle a wee spate of injuries like this but you'd rather they didn't all come in one area of the team."
