Levein expresses belief in Commons

Scotland manager Craig Levein believes Kris Commons will be a big hit at Celtic after naming him in his squad for this month's clash against Northern Ireland. The winger swapped Derby for the Hoops and enjoyed a dream debut when he netted in his first outing in a 4-1 win over Aberdeen in the Co-operative Insurance Cup at the weekend. The good news continued for Commons, when he retained his place in Levein's pool for the Carling Nations Cup opener in Dublin after featuring against the Faroe Islands in November. "I'm a big fan of Kris Commons," said Levein. "He was in the first ever squad that I put together but unfortunately he had a hamstring injury and wasn't able to come along. If I remember correctly, he was in another of the squads and had to pull out through injury as well. "He played the last game against the Faroe Islands and he played well. He's somebody who I was determined to get into the squad as quickly as possible. "I've got great belief in his ability. The move to Celtic is obviously a step up for him and I'm convinced he will shine at Celtic Park."
