Lennon ponders bid for Samaras

Greece international Georgios Samaras may have a future at Celtic after all, according to Bhoys manager Neil Lennon.

Spanish side Hercules have made a £2million offer for the striker, who was one of Greece's star performers at this summer's World Cup.

The former Manchester City forward has impressed during Celtic's pre-season tour of the USA, netting in the 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders.

Samaras has a year left on his contract, but Lennon confirmed: "Hercules have put a bid in for him but I don't know how much or how concrete it is.

"He's a bit of an enigma and has certainly given us food for thought after the Manchester United game and now this one.

"We'll contemplate what we're going to do over the next few days but he's one of those players with a year to go on his contract, so maybe we'll wait until we get back and see where we go with it."
