Neil Lennon could try to speed up Kelvin Wilson's move to Parkhead this week after a hamstring injury to Daniel Majstorovic left the Hoops with a potential central defensive problem for the midweek game against Hearts.
The Swedish defender came off during the 1-0 win over Aberdeen which took the Hoops five points clear of Rangers at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League table after their Old Firm rivals lost at Tynecastle earlier in the day, although the champions have two games in hand. Wilson has signed a pre-contract with Celtic and will move north at the end of the season.
However, with Jos Hooiveld away on loan at Copenhagen and Glenn Loovens just making his way back from injury, Lennon said: "We have been looking to strengthen in that area with Hooiveld leaving and Loovens out. We will have to assess how Daniel is but I would imagine he would struggle for Wednesday so we will be looking to bring a player in. We will have to speed things up now."
He added: "It is a blow if Majstorovic is out because he has been immense in the last couple of months for us.
"We will have to try and get someone of that ilk in.
"I would imagine that Wilson will be one of the options we look for, yes."
Lennon urged nervy Celtic fans to go easy on the players after a tense finish to the victory which came courtesy of Anthony Stokes' first-half winner.
"Unless you get that two-goal cushion there seems to be an anxiety around the place a little bit," the former Parkhead skipper said. "From the supporters point of view I would like to see them cut the players a little bit of slack at times towards the end of games.
"I can understand the frustration but it doesn't help at times and it makes it a bit frantic. We controlled the game for long periods and we should have been more comfortable winners.
"But the longer the game goes on and you are just 1-0 up, there tends to be an anxiety creeping in. Chances weren't aplenty but our goalkeeper didn't have a save to make and a month ago we might have drawn."
