The reserve team coach and former Parkhead captain was appointed interim manager for the rest of the season on Thursday after Mowbray's troubled nine-month reign as Hoops' boss was ended following the 4-0 SPL thrashing at St Mirren.[LNB]Celtic's defeat in Paisley kept them 10 points behind SPL leaders Rangers having played two games more which jolted the board into action.[LNB]Lennon spoke to Mowbray and his predecessors, Martin O'Neill and Gordon Strachan, both of whom the Irishman played under.[LNB]Asked what advice he was given by the trio, Lennon joked: "Don't do it![LNB]"No, not at all. I spoke to Martin O'Neill, spoke to Gordon Strachan and spoke to Tony about it.[LNB]"They all said what a great job it is, it was a wonderful opportunity for me and told me that I would regret it if I didn't take it.[LNB]"I think it is an absolute privilege and I'm hoping that everyone will come out and support me and the team from here on in.[LNB]"I don't think anything prepares you for being a manager of the Old Firm.[LNB]"Yes, I have been here 10 years but you can have the most experienced manager in the world and still find it difficult here.[LNB]"I had difficult periods as a player, with things off the field.[LNB]"But I know the pressure that come with the job and I know the Scottish scene and that is of benefit to me more than anything else."[LNB]Lennon admitted he wants to manage Celtic on a permanent basis.[LNB]"Yes I do want the job for keeps, everyone knows what this club means to me," he said.[LNB]"It is a wonderful opportunity for me. Obviously I cam coming in in difficult circumstances but I have a job to do between now and the end of the season."[LNB][LNB][LNB] Celtic v Kilmarnock. Click here to bet.
