Lennon hoping for return to form

First-team coach Lennon has watched the Hoops surrender a seven-point lead in the last two months to leave them trailing arch-rivals Rangers on goal difference.[LNB]He said: "We're disappointed because we were seven points ahead a few weeks ago but there is a third of the season still to go, so there is plenty of football left.[LNB]"We've won the league the last three years but that's history and it's all about the present now. We need to get firing again."[LNB]The lack of goals from Celtic's strikers since the turn of the year has been of particular concern, with Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink managing just two in an injury-hit season and Georgios Samaras failing to find the net since the beginning of January.[LNB]Scott McDonald is the one forward in form, having hit five goals in his last seven outings.[LNB]Lennon said: "With Jan, you are looking at it as like having a new player. He has been back now four or five games and it's not a major concern, but we'd like him to score sooner rather than later.[LNB]"I just think the strikers are going through a patch where they are not scoring. The longer it goes, the more the confidence starts to wane a bit but there is no evidence of a lack of confidence there. Scotty has 13 this season so he is going for 20, which would be a good return again.[LNB]"You just hope once Jan and Sammy hit the ground running again, they will produce a flow of goals and get the monkey off their backs."[LNB]Lennon believes the outcome of the title race could be down to midfield dynamo Scott Brown maintaining his excellent form.[LNB]He said: "I think he is playing out of his skin. Along with Gary Caldwell, he has been the best player this season.[LNB]"His all-round game has improved and he has scored a few goals for us this season with his energy and drive."[LNB][LNB]
