Celtic boss Neil Lennon hailed his "brilliant" side after they thrashed Dundee United to move to within a point of Rangers. The Bhoys responded to Rangers' 5-0 win at Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday in impressive style to move back to within one point of the champions at the top of the table ahead of their game in hand against Inverness on Wednesday. Gary Hooper's goal after 23 minutes gave the home side the interval lead and second-half strikes from Kayal, Kris Commons and substitute Daryl Murphy sealed the win as United substitute Johnny Russell grabbed a consolation for the Taysiders. With four games remaining the Parkhead side look in good shape as they seek to take the title back from Ibrox. Lennon said: "We were brilliant from start to finish although we are disappointed with the goal that we conceded. "It was a disappointing result from our point of view at Fir Park but we responded very well. "We have a game in hand plus a goal difference of six goals but that won't matter if we win every game."
