Ledley poised for Celtic switch

Celtic are confident of completing the swift signing of Joe Ledley after including the Cardiff City midfielder in their squad for a pre-season tour.

The 23-year-old Wales international is out of contract and available on a free transfer and had held talks with the Bhoys alongside Premier League duo Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion.

Ledley underwent a medical during a trip to Glasgow last week and is now on the verge of being confirmed as the club's latest signing despite reports that the deal had stalled in recent days.

The midfielder has been named in their touring party for this week's trip to North America.

"You can be very confident about Joe Ledley coming to Celtic Football Club," explained chief executive Peter Lawwell.
