Ledley sure of Celtic stamina

Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley has brushed aside concerns that the postponement of their Scottish Cup clash against Inverness will affect their chances of securing the first silverware of the season.

Celtic now face a second 340-mile round trip to the Highlands in five days just four days before their Co-operative Insurance Cup final against Rangers. But Celtic were due to have faced Hibernian in league duty on Wednesday anyway, and their Old Firm rivals have a Europa League encounter against PSV Eindhoven on Thursday.

Ledley told his club's official website: "I don't think it will affect us though because we came straight back home in the morning and we got to rest on Sunday. We're back training (on Monday) and I don't think it's hurt us one bit."

He added: "It was very disappointing, especially as we'd travelled up the day before.

"We could see on the journey it was going to be a doubt straight away.

"We went to the ground on Saturday though and there was no snow at all so that gave us a bit of hope.

"But obviously it continued all through the day and night and it made the pitch unplayable."
