The New Zealand striker was out of the picture under former boss Gordon Strachan but impressed new manager Tony Mowbray in pre-season games, scoring a double against Brisbane Roar in Australia before netting one in both games against Egyptian side Al Ahly and Tottenham in the Wembley Cup. However, Killen was left on the bench for the visit of Dinamo to Celtic Park in the first leg of the Champions League qualifier on Wednesday, appearing after the break when the home side tried to claw back the 1-0 deficit which leaves them with an uphill task in the return game in Moscow. "I think it's important for everyone in pre-season to give a good account of themselves and show the manager that you are here to play," Killen said. "It's a fresh start for a lot of us, a new manager, new ideas and hopefully if I can carry on, we'll see what happens and I might get a run. "I didn't take a summer break this year, I had to get going and get fit again and I wanted to give myself the best possible chance of another shot of playing for this club. "Last season was disappointing, but I have never written myself off and have put that all behind me now. "I have worked with the manager previously and I enjoy working with him and Veno (Mark Venus). "Granty (Peter Grant) has a big input as well and they have told me to keep working hard and score goals. If I do that, it's up to him to make the decision." "We know we have to win in Moscow," continued Killen. "We are going to go there to give it our best shot. "It's just disappointing we couldn't put away our chances on Wednesday and come away with the win, but I am confident we can do it."
