Kenyan defender to join Bhoys

Celtic stepped up their summer recruitment drive on Thursday as they secured a deal to bring Kenyan defender Victor Wanyama to Parkhead.[LNB] The club have agreed a fee with Belgian club Germinal Beerschot for the 20-year-old, who has accepted the personal terms.[LNB]A statement on the club's official website added: "Victor will join the club in the summer subject to a work permit and medical."[LNB]Wanyama, who is the brother of Inter Milan's McDonald Mariga, made his international debut aged just 15 in an unofficial friendly against Nigeria.[LNB]Celtic's bitter Old Firm rivals, Rangers, had also been linked with a move for the defender, while Aston Villa were understood to be interested.[LNB]Wanyama's impending arrival follows the signings of full-back Adam Matthews from Cardiff and centre-back Kelvin Wilson from Nottingham Forest, both of whom signed pre-contract deals in the winter.[LNB]Manager Neil Lennon has also been linked with Israeli striker Omer Damari, who plays for Maccabi Petah Tikva, and Kaizer Chiefs forward Knowledge Musona.[LNB]Lennon has also admitted interest in Central Coast Mariners midfielder Mustafa Amini, 18, who will play against the Hoops in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
