Kennedy considers coaching option

The 26-year-old was advised to call time on his career after eight operations failed to cure a knee ligament injury sustained on his international debut for Scotland in a friendly against Romania in March 2004, following a reckless challenge by Romania striker Ionel Ganea.[LNB]He was out of the Hoops first team for over three years before returning on April 22, 2007 to help Celtic clinch the Scottish Premier League title with a 2-1 victory at Kilmarnock.[LNB]But the following November he was forced off during a Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk at Celtic Park with further damage to the same knee.[LNB]A move to Norwich last summer on loan ended when he returned to Glasgow at the end of the year after again damaging his knee and a fortnight ago Kennedy acted on medical advice to officially retire from the game.[LNB]The former Celtic youth player, who claims he has not considered legal action against Ganea, said: "I need to continue my rehab until Christmas.[LNB]"I'm still up at Lennoxtown training every day but I suppose it will hit me when I come away from that.[LNB]"I am trying to put everything behind me and look to the future.[LNB]"In terms of what I'm going to do, I have a couple of ideas in mind.[LNB]"I will take my time to think about it.[LNB]"I want to stay in football, it's part of me, I have spent so long playing and in this environment and it's what I'm used to.[LNB]"Coaching has always interested me and I would definitely consider that.[LNB]"Even when I was playing I was thinking about coaching later in life so it would be up for consideration."[LNB][LNB]
