Kapo poised for Celtic switch

Celtic target Olivier Kapo has revealed Neil Lennon has persuaded him to make the switch to Parkhead.

Kapo is a free agent after being released by Wigan last summer and despite offers from other clubs, the French international is ready to try his luck in Scotland after holding talks with the Scottish giants.

"Several clubs have been in touch with me over the past few weeks but nothing came to me as strong as Celtic," Kapo told the Daily Record.

"I am aware of the track record of Celtic. They are one of the big clubs of European football and I would see this as a huge challenge.

"I am happy with that and, in fact, Celtic are more than just a football club. I'm aware of the spirit of the club and I have noticed already the feeling connected with them.

"The people and the management made me feel very secure - as secure as I have felt for a long time.

"They wanted to talk about the plans they have for the club and, as I said, I have a good feeling with all of the people.

"Mr Lennon was a famous player for Celtic and that fact gave me a guarantee we could start to talk the same language of football.

"In the past few months, I have spoken with some people but maybe they don't have the same level of understanding.

"I like a strong personality and the manager is a strong personality. So is the chairman. I have been very impressed."
