The 26-year-old Dutch defender, the Hoops' first signing this month, has joined from AIK Solna for a fee reportedly in the region of £2million.[LNB]Hooiveld told Celtic's 'The Huddle' programme: "When I'm on the field, I'm not always as nice as I am outside the field.[LNB]"Outside the field, I'm a perfectly nice guy but on the field I can be a bit nasty - in a good way, I think, a fair way.[LNB]"I demand from myself the best possible, but even from the people around me that I work with."[LNB]Hooiveld helped AIK win the Swedish double in his only season with the club, who have fallen on hard times financially.[LNB]He revealed how former Parkhead defender Johan Mjallby, who started and ended his career at AIK, helped sell the idea of Celtic to him.[LNB]"It was really funny because two months ago we did a photoshoot together," Hooiveld explained.[LNB]"Last time AIK were champions was '98, when Mjallby was playing.[LNB]"They were comparing us with each other: same personality, almost same position and way of thinking about football.[LNB]"We met each other there and he was telling me about Celtic and his stories.[LNB]"I'd get excited but, of course, everything was so far away that I could only dream about going to a club like Celtic.[LNB]"Now you can see that sometimes dreams can come true."[LNB]Hooiveld's move sees him reunited with former Heerenveen team-mate Georgios Samaras.[LNB]He said: "We had some good times; we were champions there as well with the second team of Heerenveen.[LNB]"I had some titles to my name and I want some more."[LNB]Hooiveld ultimately failed to make the grade at his first club and was even rejected by Livingston after a trial there in 2005.[LNB]After a loan spell at Dutch second division side FC Zwolle, he moved to Austrian side Kapfenberger SV.[LNB]The following season, he joined Finnish club Inter Turku and earned him a move to AIK two years later.[LNB]Celtic must also consider whether to make a fresh bid for Preston defender Sean St Ledger after seeing an approach rejected by the Coca-Cola Championship club last week.[LNB]Hooiveld and St Ledger would fill the void left by Gary Caldwell's impending departure.[LNB]The Hoops have agreed a fee with Middlesbrough for the sale of Scotland defender Caldwell and midfielder Barry Robson.[LNB]Willo Flood and Chris Killen are also close to a reunion with former Celtic boss Gordon Strachan at the Riverside, with reports claiming all four players have now undergone medicals.[LNB][LNB] Celtic 1/6, Draw 6/1, Falkirk 14/1
