AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi became the all-time leading scorer in UEFA club competitions by finding the net in the 1-0 Champions League victory over Celtic in the San Siro.
The 34-year-old scored his 63rd European goal, passing the previous mark set by Germany and Bayern Munich legend Gerd Muller.
Inzaghi said: "It's a special evening for me, I will never forget this game. I'm extremely happy and it's a great satisfaction to have achieved this historic number.
"I wish to thank all the teams that I have played for and all my team-mates, because I could not have done it without them.
"Having read the names on the goalscorers list it makes me very honoured and very proud to lead the list."
Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti added: "He was really looking forward to scoring and he prepared well for it. He got what he wanted and we must congratulate him.
"I think what makes Inzaghi stand out from the rest of the strikers I have coached is his ability to move around the area and take advantage of his chances."
