Hoops waiting on Kayal scan

Celtic's Israel international midfielder Biram Kayal has admitted that he is likely to be out of action until the new year. The 22-year-old is awaiting results of a scan on his hernia operation after seeing a specialist in England. Kayal joined the SPL giants from Maccabi Haifa during the summer in a deal reportedly to be worth £1.2million. However, after making just three appearances for Neil Lennon's side, he was told by the Parkhead giants that he needed surgery. Celtic insist that the player's injury is not as serious as first feared and have stressed that he may not miss three months. But the player reportedly told journalists in Isreal that Lennon does not expect to see him in action until after Christmas. Kayal told the Daily Record: "The manager would rather I rest and then come back in January. "I did not know about the injury when I signed. Since I learned about it I haven't slept. "I was told to either take an injection and be out a month or have an op and be out for three months. "I've gone for a second opinion but what happens depends on what Celtic say."
