Hoops boss out to make amends

The 3-3 draw against the Bairns in November was due to some shambolic Hoops defending and it represented an early blow to their Scottish Premier League title hopes which were all but extinguished by their Old Firm defeat at Ibrox last week.[LNB]The Parkhead club continue their ongoing spat with referees and the Scottish Football Association following the controversial dismissal of skipper Scott Brown against Rangers - and the subsequent rejection of his appeal.[LNB]More controversy surrounds the state of the Falkirk pitch although Mowbray has rejected outright reports that Celtic have complained.[LNB]The Celtic boss is focusing only on beating the Bairns with whom they also drew at home in January.[LNB]"In the 3-3 game we played as poorly as we have played," Mowbray said. "I stated that after the game and yet I gave them credit, the did very well on the day.[LNB]"Falkirk are a good football team, they like to expand the pitch and try to play football.[LNB]"They scored some goals that day, passed the ball around very well and were brave in the way they played."[LNB]Eddie May was replaced as Bairns boss by his assistant Steven Pressley in February as Falkirk sat at the bottom of the SPL table - where they have remained - but Mowbray is expecting no less of a challenge.[LNB]"On a personal view I'm disappointed that Eddie May has left since then," the former Hibernian and West Brom boss said.[LNB]"He played attractive football and wanted to entertain the supporters and yet as we all understand, it's about winning and they probably didn't win enough games week in, week out because they played against teams more attritional than we were.[LNB]"Managers need opportunities and Steven Pressley now has the opportunity and that's all you can ask.[LNB]"It's like a footballer getting his opportunity, he has to go out and play well to stay in the team.[LNB]"So Steven has got the opportunity and I'm sure he is looking to grab it."[LNB]Mowbray will wait on the fitness of defender Glenn Loovens but is in no rush to re-route the captain's armband in the absence of Brown.[LNB]He said: "I haven't given it any thought.[LNB]"Watching England in midweek they were having the same sort of debate about the captaincy.[LNB]"A few of their players said that it doesn't matter to them, that they should all go out and lead and it's about winning the game.[LNB]"Scott remains the captain but if he is not on the pitch someone else will wear it."[LNB][LNB] Celtic 4/11, Draw 10/3, Falkirk 7/1
