Hercules have expressed an interest in signing Celtic striker Georgios Samaras following their promotion to the Spanish Primera Liga.[LNB] Samaras is currently featuring on Celtic's pre-season tour of North America and opened the scoring in Sunday's win over Seattle.[LNB]However, he is attracting interest from several clubs across Europe and was wanted by Italian side Palermo before the World Cup finals.[LNB]Samaras' lawyer responded to those rumours by stating the 25-year-old would see out the final 12 months of his contract at Parkhead, but he may now have an offer from Hercules to consider.[LNB]Hercules' coach Esteban Vigo believes that Samaras is just the type of player they need following the club's promotion to the top flight.[LNB]"Samaras could be a key piece in our project to stay in La Liga next season," said Vigo in the Daily Record.[LNB]"We believe he has the same style of Nikola Zigic, who was a success at Valencia before being sold to Birmingham.[LNB]"We think Samaras can solve our problems in attack. He has other offers from European clubs, but we have made our interest known and expect an answer this week."[LNB]Hoops boss Neil Lennon said of Samaras' potential move: "I think they have put a bid in, but I don't know how much for.[LNB]"I don't know how concrete it is, I've not spoken to Peter Lawwell.[LNB]"Sami is a bit of an enigma, really. But he certainly gave us food for thought after Toronto.[LNB]"We will contemplate what we are going to do but he is in that boat where he has a year left on his contract."
