Linking up with Santos Laguna could benefit both clubs Celtic are always looking to link up with areas to expand the brand. This time the are looking west rather than east and are close to agreeing a partnership deal with Santos Laguna from Mexico. The link up could see players moving from Glasgow to the Mexican side and vice versa. Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell, who travelled to Mexico for talks last week, is hopeful a deal will be agreed early next year.He said: "We have developed an excellent relationship already with Santos Laguna and we hope to formalise this partnership early next year. Laguna is a great club, run by great people, with a tremendous pedigree and one whose ethos is closely aligned to our own. Like Celtic, Santos Laguna is much more than a football club, an organisation with a very strong social and community dimension but also a very professional club with a desire for success. We are sure the professionalism, spirit, enthusiasm and knowledge of Santos Laguna will be a real asset to Celtic."
