Giroud considering his options

Giroud, who has scored 14 goals in 17 games this season, said earlier this month he would see out the season with his current club.[LNB]But after Tours director general Max Marty was quoted saying the player would be sold during the transfer window, Giroud now looks set for an imminent departure.[LNB]When asked if he would stay with Tours until the end of the campaign, he said: "No, it's not as simple as that. We're now at a stage where a lot of thinking has to be done. There is a lot of interest in me.[LNB]"Celtic and Middlesbrough are the most persistent but there is also interest from Montpellier, Valenciennes, Monaco and Toulouse.[LNB]"On one hand I feel content here because, at Tours, I'm well protected. But, on the other, there are opportunities for me to go abroad or to play in Ligue 1 in January.[LNB]"Most clubs want me for the start of 2010 because they need to re-inforce their attacking options quickly, so they won't wait. I could take up the opportunity to prove myself in Ligue 1 or abroad quicker than expected."[LNB]Celtic will battle with former boss Gordon Strachan - now at the Riverside - for the signature of Giroud, who was playing amateur football just 18 months ago but is now reportedly valued at around £2.5million.[LNB][LNB]
