Four-match ban for Strachan
30 Jan 2008 - 07:17:57
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan will watch his side's next four matches from the stands after being hit with a touchline ban following an incident in a game against Aberdeen in August.
The Bhoys boss was ordered out of the dugout by referee Charlie Richmond after becoming embroiled in a row with a Pittodrie steward during his side's 2-1 victory on August 19.
However despite the lengthy delay, Strachan has now been found guilty of "unacceptable conduct" by the Scottish Football Association.
Meanwhile, new signing Georgios Samaras has revealed the opportunity to play in the Champions League persuaded him to join the Glasgow club.
The Greece striker joined the Parkhead club on loan until the end of the season from Manchester City on Tuesday.
"I'm really delighted. It's the biggest club in Scotland and I'm looking forward to winning games and to win the title we have targeted," he told the club's official website.
"I'm here to help the team and to reach the targets you have. And, of course, a big team like Celtic wants to win everything and I'm here to do that - to win everything.
"I've never played in the Champions League before and I will do my best to get to the next round.
"It will be very difficult against Barcelona but in football you never know. I try to give 100 per cent in each game and, of course, to have the mentality to win every game."
