Fortune still to see the sights

Straight after completing his £3.8million move from the French club Nancy on July 8, the striker was whisked away to Australia on a pre-season tour where he made his debut as a second-half substitute in the 3-0 win over Brisbane Roar. After a few days training with his new team-mates Fortune will travel down to Wales for Wednesday's friendly against Cardiff before moving on to England for Wembley Cup games against Al Ahly and Tottenham on Friday and Sunday respectively. These games will serve as final preparations for the first leg of Celtic's Champions League third qualifier against Dinamo Moscow at Parkhead next Wednesday. However, despite a hectic start to his Hoops career, Fortune is already discovering what it means being a Celtic player. "It has been more than I expected," the 28-year-old said. "I heard about Celtic and their fans, the way they treat the players and the facilities and I have been impressed. "But I have had no time to see Glasgow. "We went to Australia right away and we are away again so maybe after that I can see the place." While Parkhead defender Glenn Loovens predicted Fortune's shooting prowess would net him goals next season, the former West Brom striker is keeping targets to himself. However, he is looking ahead to the visit of Dinamo Moscow next week to get his competitive career at Celtic underway. "I am a striker so of course I have a target but I keep that to myself," he said. "The first target is to give my best and help the team to play well and win games and after that it's about my target. "We are ready and impatient to play this game (Dinamo Moscow). "We have been waiting for this since the beginning of pre-season and everybody wants to play in it. "I am still looking at my team mates but all the players are good players. "We have top players who are used to playing in the Champions League so I don't think there are any problems." One player Fortune is familiar with is former Nancy team mate Landry N'Guemo, who arrived on a season-long loan from the French club. "N'Guemo is strong, aggressive, fast but also has good technique and he will be a good choice," Fortune said. "He made a good decision to come here. "I think he wants to prove and show that he can play in a big team like Celtic."
