Forster unfazed by defensive woes

Fraser Forster has no worries about marshalling a Celtic defence consisting solely of full-backs in their Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

With no no centre-backs available for selection, right-back Mark Wilson and left-back Charlie Mulgrew, who finished the game as the central defensive partnership in the 4-1 win against Aberdeen in the Co-operative Insuracne Cup semi-final, will be asked by the Parkhead boss to pair up again.

"I'm sure it will be fine," goalkeeper Forster said. "Whoever comes will do their best and that's all you can ask."

He added: "We have got a fantastic squad and everyone will play a part at some stage of the season.

"So I have no real worries about whoever comes in and plays."

Forster's confidence is borne from recent performances where he has been reduced to the role of virtual spectator at times.

Celtic have kept seven clean sheets in their last nine games and the on-loan Newcastle keeper, who is delighted to be staying at Celtic until the end of the season, admits that his game has often been more about concentration than anything else.

"We do tend to dominate in a lot of games," he said.

"Obviously it is something different [from what I`m used to] and I have to keep my concentration.

"There might be nothing to do in some games but there might be just one thing that you have to do that makes the difference so you have to keep switched on and focused."
