The 22-year-old played under Mowbray during their time together at Easter Road and has cited the Hoops target as a major influence on his career. Celtic failed with a bid for the highly-rated striker back in January, but Fletcher believes now is the time to quit Hibs for a new challenge. Speaking of Mowbray, he told the Herald: "He was a massive influence, not just as a manager but as a friend too." He added: "It's up to the chairman. I want to push myself to further my career and if that means moving on from Hibs, then so be it. "I'm ambitious and, if the opportunity comes along again, I think now might be the right time to leave. "When Celtic were knocked back, I was a bit disappointed but I thought I handled it well. I kept scoring goals. It didn't affect me in a bad way."
