Here are five things we learned from this weekend's Ladbrokes Premiership action:
ABERDEEN CAN OVERCOME THE CHALLENGE FROM HEARTS
The Dons passed another test of their title credentials with an impressive 3-1 win at Tynecastle. Having already started much better than last season, when they struggled after the Europa League, and recorded an elusive win over Celtic, they showed they can deal with the most difficult task outside of playing the champions to make it eight wins from eight.
HAMILTON ARE THE PRIDE OF LANARKSHIRE
Accies finished above Motherwell in the league last season for the first time since 1954 and they are showing that it might be no fluke. Motherwell failed to score at New Douglas Park for a seventh consecutive game as Hamilton inflicted a fifth derby defeat on their neighbours inside 12 months to move six points ahead in the table.
CELTIC HAVE ANOTHER OPTION IN THE NUMBER 10 ROLE
Tom Rogic opened the scoring and generally caused chaos in the Dundee defence as he started in the attacking central midfield role in Celtic's 6-0 triumph. Ronny Deila now has numerous options in the creative position, including Rogic, Kris Commons, Scott Allan, Stefan Johansen and Stuart Armstrong.
KILMARNOCK ARE IMPROVING, BUT...
Killie's second victory in a row took them further away from the foot of the table but it came at a cost. Goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald got his ankle and knee caught in the artificial turf and had to be taken off. With Craig Samson having left to join Motherwell, 21-year-old Conor Brennan came on for his fifth Kilmarnock appearance. The Irishman kept a personal clean sheet in the 2-1 win over St Johnstone but Gary Locke will be eager for MacDonald to recover quickly given his form this season.
RICHIE FORAN COULD BE ON HIS WAY BACK
The Inverness club captain made his first league appearance for 18 months when he came on in the 83rd minute of their draw against Dundee United. The Irishman has been struggling with a knee problem and had a setback after his return in the Europa League against Astra. Caley Thistle finished third and won the William Hill Scottish Cup without him but his influence could be huge in their quest to repeat their success.
