Disapointment from a set of players who may ot be good enough for Celtic

Neil Leoon not willing to forgive and forget today's performance Neil Lennon will not want today's result to be remembered when the board start thinking about who will lead the team next season. Ross County out-played and out-thought a poorly performing Celtic side in today's Scottish Cup semi-final to run out, in all reality, worthy winners by a 2-0 scoreline. The sun was beating down but there did not seem t much of it falling on the green side of the national stadium. Ross County proved they were not there just to balance up the numbers of players and teams on the pitch as they were quicker in thought and action for the majority of the game. My notes are littered with the same phrase that Celtic just were not able to get going. The same could not be said of County who belied their First Division status by not allowing Celtic players time on the ball and finding their own players when making passes.Unfortunately, the same could not be said of so many of the side in the green and white. So often the frustration of watching yet another, rare, attack falter was to much for Lennon as he prowled the technical area and he took it on several water bottles either by crashing them to the ground or kicking out of sight. After the game, Lennon said: " I can't get angry as it is beyond anger. I spoke to players bluntly, coolly, calmly as I could. It's not good enough. We have gone out of every competition without a whimper. We warned the players before about semi-finals about Ross County being up for the game, organised, being well drilled and they went out and completely ignored everything we said. For the first fifteen minutes we could put our foot on the ball, pass it, turn them and play in their half. We were so bad at the start we had to match up Ross County and obviously conceded the goal had to bring on more attacking players to try an influence the game. The bottom line is that you can give them information and little tit bits they should know already but two things you cannot give them is hunger and desire. And this team is really wanting in that department."
